The role of Events Manager at Chisenhall Fields Sports Complex is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the General Manager. This key position involves overseeing the organization and execution of a diverse range of programs including sports leagues, tournaments, after-school activities, and various special events. The Events Manager will be responsible for managing staff hiring, training, and scheduling, ensuring that all programs run smoothly and meet the facility's high standards. Collaboration with other departments such as Operations and Marketing is a critical aspect of the role, ensuring cohesive program delivery and effective promotion of facility offerings.
The Events Manager will develop and implement programs tailored to different target audiences such as corporate groups, youth and adult participants, families, and special interest groups. Budget management, sales goal development, and the cultivation of strategic alliances and partnerships are central responsibilities. The role demands proactive networking and relationship-building to maximize revenue and attract high-quality events. Additionally, the Events Manager will oversee event setup and execution, maintaining a strong customer service culture and ensuring operational excellence during events. Weekend and evening work is required, including acting as Manager on Duty during events.                 - Must have proven history of developing, marketing, and selling recreation and training programs
 - Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills

 - Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
 - Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period
 - Bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field with 3-5 years appropriate experience required
 - Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
 - May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
 - Will be required to operate a computer
 - Facility has intermittent noise
