The role available is an Event Planner position within Sage Hospitality Group, specializing in the full spectrum of event planning and catering coordination. This full-time opportunity offers an hourly wage between USD 20.00 and USD 22.00, appealing to individuals passionate about hospitality, event management, and sales. The Event Planner is primarily responsible for executing all aspects of event planning, which includes meetings, reunions, social functions, and catering. This involves meticulous coordination starting from the signing of a group contract and covers direct billing, catering arrangements, event specifics, VIP accommodations, group resumes, rooming lists, and more. Approximately 75% of the role’s responsibilities are focused on the planning and execution aspect to ensure flawless event delivery according to client expectations.
In addition to event coordination, this role dedicates about 25% of its time to targeting, capturing, and coordinating catering sales. The Event Planner aims to meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new catering accounts and managing all group business components in a profitable and mutually beneficial manner. Key responsibilities include achieving a minimum of 90% productivity goals and 100% activity goals set by management, managing group business effectively by maintaining timely follow-ups on signed contracts, and ensuring efficient communication between internal departments to guarantee client satisfaction.
The role demands a dynamic individual capable of performing direct sales calls with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, maximizing key account management to foster revenue growth, and identifying new business opportunities by researching competitors and leveraging networking strategies. The Event Planner must also excel at rebooking group and catering business, maintaining organized client files and trace systems, developing strong customer relationships, and responding promptly to client needs. Effective time management, professional conduct, and teamwork are essential traits to succeed in this role.
Candidates are expected to possess strong knowledge of general sales techniques and yield management, along with highly developed customer service and follow-up skills. The ability to juggle multiple tasks, plan activities ahead, solve problems with sound business decisions, and incorporate coaching feedback constructively is crucial. - Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- One year minimum hotel sales or catering experience
- Reliable transportation and valid state driver's license for outside sales calls
