The Senior Paramedic position within the Emergency Department at Children's Health is a vital role focused on delivering high-quality emergency medical care to pediatric patients. Reporting directly to licensed physicians, the Senior Paramedic operates under strict clinical protocols to manage Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) patients. This on-site role, working the 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift at the hospital's Dal-B location, centers on providing prompt, efficient, and family-centered emergency care. The Senior Paramedic supports the physician-led team by performing various clinical tasks such as initiating intravenous access, administering approved medications, conducting suctioning and tube insertions, and documenting patient care in electronic medical records. Beyond clinical duties, the role includes assisting in emergency interventions, transporting patients safely within the hospital, and contributing to training new staff members. This position requires a compassionate service attitude to help patients and their families navigate the emergency care experience smoothly. With at least two years of related professional experience, including a preference for acute and pediatric settings, the candidate must hold relevant licenses and certifications such as Texas EMT-P or LP licensure, PALS, ACLS, and other trauma life support certifications. - High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of job related experience
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements
- Either Texas EMT-P license or Texas LP licensure
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 180 days
- Preferred Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification within 180 days
- Ability to work on-site 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift at Hosp-Dal-B location
