The role of General Manager II (GM) at HMSHost is a critical leadership position responsible for managing a quick-service restaurant (QSR) or a small cluster of restaurants or points-of-sale, typically with annual sales up to $5 million. The GM ensures that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, service, and financial performance. The position is an exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act, reporting usually to a Director of Operations or an area leader, and requires the flexibility to work varied and rotating schedules including opening and closing shifts. This role involves broad responsibility over the operation, including staff deployment, training, financial management, and customer service. The General Manager II makes key leadership decisions to ensure the success of the restaurant and leads efforts in inventory control, quality assurance, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and brand standard adherence. The GM also plays a pivotal role in fostering a motivated and engaged team culture, coaching employees, hiring, performance management, and executing company initiatives aimed at revenue growth and operational excellence.
