The role being offered is that of a Kitchen Steward who will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas within the Sycuan establishments. This full-time, hourly position involves providing clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to the kitchen and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment is sustained to support food safety standards. Key responsibilities include scraping, racking, stacking, and washing dishware and utensils, unloading dishwashers, manually washing items as needed, and storing clean items in their appropriate areas. Additional duties encompass mopping floors, cleaning spills, maintaining counters, shelves, walls, ceilings, and kitchen equipment, and organizing storage areas by arranging food products and disposing of trash. Safety is a top priority with the Kitchen Steward expected to use proper caution signage and follow established procedures to prevent accidents and maintain orderly kitchen operations. Participation in mandatory health and safety trainings is also required, emphasizing the commitment to a healthy workplace. Candidates with prior dishwashing or custodial experience are preferred, though the role welcomes team members eager to be part of a hardworking group contributing to the Sycuan Tribe's respected hospitality and gaming operations. The ideal candidate will have the physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods, ensuring efficient kitchen support that helps create a memorable guest experience.
