The position available is for a Sales and Marketing Management role at Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites. This full-time management position is crucial to the hotel's success and is responsible for overseeing the overall sales, marketing, catering, and revenue management functions. The role involves short and long-term strategic planning and day-to-day management of the sales department. This position reports to executive leadership and participates as a member of the hotel’s Executive Committee, contributing to broader operational decisions.
The Manager of Sales & Marketing will lead a diverse team that may include Senior Sales Managers, Sales Managers, Catering Managers, Convention Service Managers, Account Executives, Marketing Managers, Sales Administrators, and Administrative Assistants. Leadership responsibilities involve recruiting, training, motivating, and retaining staff to achieve the hotel’s revenue objectives effectively. The role requires implementing brand and company programs while ensuring that all departmental operations align with established policies and budgets.
Key responsibilities include developing marketing and advertising strategies, analyzing market conditions, and understanding customer needs to adjust plans and maintain competitive advantage. The role also involves preparing detailed forecasts, business plans, and reports that guide decision-making at the executive level. Effective relationship-building with internal stakeholders, customers, industry partners, community organizations, and media is a vital part of the role, ensuring the hotel sustains a positive and influential presence in the market.
Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of a four-year college degree or equivalent education and experience, with at least five years of hotel sales experience demonstrating a history of achieving revenue goals and successfully leading sales teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong negotiation and marketing knowledge, are essential. The ability to analyze critical data, handle multiple projects, delegate responsibilities, and manage complex priorities are crucial for success in this role.
This position involves frequent local travel, periodic domestic and international travel, and typically requires working forty to fifty hours per week across five days.
