The Director of Operations at FJC Charter holds a crucial leadership position, responsible for the complete oversight and optimum functioning of the company's Part 135 operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Operations ensures that all flight activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to all federal regulations and company policies. Serving as both a managerial leader and a pilot within the organization, the Director of Operations is entrusted with the accountability of resource allocation and maintaining the FAA Part 135 certificate’s integrity. Core responsibilities include implementing and overseeing operational processes, developing and managing flight schedules, supervising the Chief Pilot, and ensuring all company aircraft are adequately equipped and compliant with operational standards. This role demands developing and nurturing a safety-oriented culture throughout the organization and liaising with external agencies such as the FAA and auditing bodies to guarantee seamless compliance and operational transparency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive aviation experience, particularly within FAR Part 135 operations, augmented by a robust educational background and strong business acumen. With a minimum of 3,000 total flight hours, including significant pilot-in-command experience and instrument flying, the Director of Operations must be certified with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and maintain a Second-Class Medical certificate. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are vital, combined with the ability to manage complex, high-stress operational environments. The role also includes oversight of all reporting requirements and ongoing revision and maintenance of the Air Carrier Operations Manual.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or have equivalent years of professional aviation experience
  • Minimum 3000 hours total time
  • 1200 hours pilot in command that includes 500 hours cross country time
  • 100 hours of night time and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
  • Prior FAR Part 135 experience as Chief Pilot or Director of Operations
  • Meet all required qualifications stated in CFR Part 119.71
  • Current and valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
  • Able to maintain a Second-Class Medical
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • No violation of FAA regulations within the last five (5) years
