The server will greet guests with a warm smile, maintain eye contact, and communicate professionally and pleasantly to create a positive atmosphere. In-depth knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and sourcing, is essential to confidently answer guests' questions and provide helpful recommendations. The server is expected to suggest appropriate wines and beverages that complement the meals customers order, enhancing their dining enjoyment. Effective communication is a cornerstone of this role, including informing guests about wait times and relaying accurate orders to the kitchen to ensure food is prepared according to recipes. Attention to detail is key, as the server must check orders for accuracy and portion size before serving, maintaining both efficiency and quality. The position also involves assisting with drink preparation, checking out guests by handling payments, and ensuring tables are promptly cleared and cleaned for the next customers. Compliance with all responsible alcohol service laws is mandatory, and the server will coordinate closely with the Maître D to manage workstation responsibilities and communicate any guest concerns. Additional duties include completing assigned side work, attending training sessions to stay informed on best practices, and performing other job-related tasks as needed. This role requires the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
