The primary role of the Delivery Driver and Warehouse Assistant is to ensure the efficient distribution of both prepared and unprepared food products as well as center supplies from the Central Kitchen to various Meals on Wheels People meal sites. The employee will be responsible for safely operating a 24-foot delivery truck, managing freight deliveries, and maintaining accurate records of all deliveries and truck maintenance. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail to make certain that all delivered items are accounted for and reach their proper destinations accurately. This position involves more than just driving. The successful candidate will actively assist in loading daily meals, milk, vegetables, and other products onto the delivery truck, and will help prepare and verify freight orders for distribution. Cross-training within the Warehouse department is also an essential part of the job, ensuring flexibility and the ability to assist in various warehouse tasks as needed. Safety compliance is paramount, so the driver must adhere to all state and federal driver safety regulations. Working conditions include handling physical tasks that necessitate the ability to carry and transfer up to 50 pounds, performing repetitive motions, frequent bending, stooping, and grasping. The job also includes exposure to various environmental elements such as cold, heat, and water.
