The available position is for a Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) who will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of various facilities while simultaneously providing excellent customer service. This position offers immediate employment opportunities with shifts running Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.00 to $20.00. The dual role of custodian and CSR involves a variety of responsibilities, including detailed floor care such as vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting; surface care duties like dusting, sanitizing, and polishing surfaces including glass, mirrors, and wood; and waste management including the proper disposal of trash and recyclables.
In addition to cleaning responsibilities, the role demands supporting light maintenance tasks such as restocking supply cabinets and replacing light bulbs. Following safety rules, company policies, and procedural protocols is fundamental, along with demonstrating good judgment and communication skills. Custodians and CSRs at SBM are expected to work cooperatively with team members and engage positively with customers to enhance service quality. The role may also involve training new employees, demonstrating proper work techniques, and helping maintain a professional appearance and conduct in all work activities.
This professional setting requires candidates to be able to read and comprehend instructions, communicate effectively, and perform basic arithmetic and measurement conversions relevant to their duties. Candidates should have reliable transportation and, if operating company or personal vehicles during work hours, must hold a valid driver’s license and provide proof of registration and insurance. While bilingual skills are a plus, they are not mandatory.                 - Must have reliable transportation
 - Less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
 - Ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
 - Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
 - Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
 - Must know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
 - Must know the American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc
 - Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle registration and insurance if driving own or company vehicle
 - Bilingual is a plus but not required
