We are currently looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our cleaning team in Oracle, AZ, at the Biosphere 2 facility. This part-time position runs from November through April, requiring work four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The role includes working on holidays except for Christmas, reflecting the importance of maintaining cleanliness and high standards even during peak visitor times and special events. As a Day Porter at OMEX, you will play a vital role in keeping the Biosphere 2 clean, organized, and well-maintained, ensuring all guests and staff have a hygienic and pleasant environment. The Day Porter position entails cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, hallways, and common areas daily, managing waste disposal including emptying trash and recycling bins, and performing floor care such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Additional responsibilities include dusting fixtures, cleaning glass surfaces, replenishing consumable supplies like soap and paper towels, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the facilities team promptly. Maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies is also part of the role to ensure operational efficiency. We seek candidates who have a strong sense of responsibility and who take pride in their work. Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to contribute wherever needed. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and navigate outdoor terrain involving trails, gravel, dirt, and small hills.
