This role is a part-time position focused on the safe and legal handling of dangerous goods within FedEx’s transportation network. The individual will be responsible for ensuring all dangerous goods are properly separated, palletized, and loaded onto aircraft or trucks in compliance with safety regulations. Maintaining accuracy and timeliness in related paperwork is a crucial component of this job, involving coordination to distribute necessary documentation to all relevant parties. The position requires adherence to strict safety protocols and regulations concerning the transportation and management of hazardous materials.
The successful candidate will have experience in station, ramp, hub, or safety operations, preferably with some exposure to handling dangerous goods. Key responsibilities include performing all basic and recurring training related to dangerous goods and spill clean-up procedures if required. The role demands the ability to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 50 pounds or more, utilizing appropriate equipment or assistance when handling exceptionally heavy or bulky items. Candidates must be capable of reading and understanding complex manuals, charts, and regulations, and effectively communicating in a fast-paced and noisy operational environment.
FedEx offers a compensation range from $22.25 to $32.52 per hour for this part-time role, reflecting variations depending on experience, location, and job level. Employees in this role may be eligible for additional pay premiums or bonuses. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, providing a consistent and predictable work routine.
