About Grant Aviation: Grant Aviation is an 'essential Alaskan airline' connecting the 'Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta' and the Aleutian Islands. From our hub in Bethel, AK (BET), we fly a 'diverse fleet' of small aircraft (like the Cessna Caravan, GA8 Airvan, and Piper Navajo) to over '80 remote villages'. We are a 'lifeline', delivering passengers, mail, groceries, and essential supplies. We are seeking a 'dependable, hardworking', and 'customer-focused' individual for a 'hybrid ground role' as a Customer Service & Cargo Agent. 'No experience' in aviation is required; we provide 'paid, on-the-job training'. This is a 'physically active' job that requires a 'team-player' attitude, as you will be doing 'everything on the ground' to get our flights out safely and on time. 'You must be based in Bethel, AK'. Your New Career – The Role: As a Grant Aviation Agent, you are the 'face and the muscle' of our Bethel station. This is a 'dual-role' position that includes 'customer service' and 'cargo handling'. You will work at the 'ticket counter', checking in passengers and taking reservations, and then you will go 'out on the ramp' to 'physically load' the aircraft. This role requires 'excellent customer service skills', the 'physical strength' to lift heavy cargo, and the 'resilience' to work in the 'challenging Alaskan weather'. You must be ableto work a 'flexible schedule', including 'day shift', 'weekend shift', and 'on-call' periods, as our operations are vital '7 days a week'. 'Customer Service Agent' Duties: * Greet passengers at the Bethel terminal with a 'friendly and helpful' attitude. * Perform 'passenger check-in', issue tickets, and check baggage. * Answer 'high-volume phone calls', book reservations, and answer questions about flight schedules and cargo services. * Handle 'cash, check, and credit card' transactions for tickets and freight. * Communicate 'flight delays' and 'weather cancellations' to passengers clearly and empathetically. 'Cargo & Ramp Agent' Duties: * 'Physically load and unload' aircraft. This includes 'heavy lifting' of passenger baggage, 'U.S. Mail', groceries, and various freight items (up to 70 lbs). * 'Weigh' all passengers, baggage, and cargo to ensure accurate 'weight and balance' data for the pilot. * Operate 'forklifts' and 'ramp vehicles' (training provided) to move freight. * Secure all 'cargo' inside the aircraft pods and cabins. * Work 'outside on the ramp' in 'all weather conditions' (cold, wind, snow, rain). * Help 'marshal' aircraft on the ramp. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: 'No experience' is necessary. We will train you to become a 'multi-skilled' aviation professional. Our 'paid, on-the-job training' in Bethel covers: * Our 'reservations' and ticketing system. * 'Customer service' and station procedures. * 'Ramp safety' and aircraft marshalling signals. * 'Cargo handling', including 'weight and balance' procedures. * 'Forklift' and ground equipment operation. * 'Hazardous Materials' (HAZMAT) recognition and handling. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your 'shift' (either 'day shift' or 'weekend shift') starts at our busy Bethel terminal. For the first hour, you'll be at the 'ticket counter' checking in 30 passengers for 5 different village flights. You'll weigh each passenger and their bags. At the same time, you'll be answering the 'freight phone', booking a shipment of building supplies. Then, you'll put on your 'ramp gear' and head outside. You'll drive the 'forklift' to move a pallet of mail, then 'physically load' two Cessna Caravans with baggage and boxes, making sure to 'secure everything' and give the 'final weights' to the pilots. This is a 'fast-paced, physically demanding' job where you are 'constantly moving' and 'switching tasks'. You are a 'critical part' of our Bethel team. Why Grant Aviation? This role is a 'vital service' to the 'YK Delta' community. You are the person ensuring families get their mail, groceries, and medical supplies. We offer a 'stable, year-round' job with 'competitive pay' and a 'full benefits package'. You'll work with a 'close-knit team' of locals. We offer 'flight benefits' on our network, allowing you to 'explore Alaska'. This is a 'rewarding career' for a 'hardworking' individual who wants to make a 'real difference' in their community.
