The role being offered is a full-time position with a competitive annual salary ranging from $145,000 to $150,000, coupled with a 20% incentive pay dependent on the achievement of company, team, and individual goals. This position carries global responsibilities for the gate gourmet/airline customer locations and involves up to 60% domestic and international travel. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Group Culinary Excellence and dotted line to the Global Account Director and Regional Executive Chef, the successful candidate will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing culinary standards across multiple units worldwide. The primary focus of this role is to serve as the strategic partner and expert for airline menu development, working closely to create new menus and culinary concepts that reflect the airline’s signature style, including Asian, Modern European, and ethnic cuisine. The role demands a thorough understanding of large-scale production, hospitality, and service delivery to ensure that the in-flight meals consistently meet and exceed customer expectations. This position also involves significant interaction with regional executive chefs and airline unit chefs to ensure seamless communication and execution of culinary standards. Additionally, the role supports the operational execution of menus, ensuring quality and culinary standards are consistently upheld. The position includes responsibilities such as influencing training across multiple units to align with customer expectations and working closely with Gate Gourmet's Total Cost Management team for pricing and cost analysis. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring customer feedback and making necessary improvements, preparing culinary presentations during tender processes, representing the company at media and special events, and actively contributing to the sustainable progress of culinary excellence through internal programs. Gate Gourmet expects the candidate to have a strong culinary background and proficiency in fusion cooking with experience in fine dining and diverse global cuisines, as well as a solid understanding of HACCP standards and food safety.   • Apprenticeship, AOS or compatible degree in culinary arts and/or bachelor's degree in business and/or hospitality
  • 3-5 years of experience within in-flight catering preferred
  • 4 years of menu development and operational experience
  • Strong culinary background
  • Ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally
  • Must be able to regularly stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during work schedules of 10+ hours
  • Must be able to withstand a normal production kitchen facility with varying temperature and noise levels
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and move product, equipment, and supplies in excess of 25 pounds
  • Occasionally requires working weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
