The role of Strategic Meetings and Travel Coordinator at M&T Bank involves facilitating the strategic meetings management process (SMMP) for internal clients. This position plays a crucial part in managing site selection, supplier negotiations, and contract management related to event and travel resources. The coordinator acts as the primary liaison between internal employees and external suppliers to ensure that all travel and event requirements are met effectively and economically. This includes supporting various levels of the organization, including senior management, by providing comprehensive event planning and travel coordination services.
Key responsibilities include responding to travel and event requests for groups involving internal bank employees, managing the sourcing and negotiation of event spaces and travel accommodations, finalizing contracts, tracking and reconciling event expenses, and providing onsite event support. Additionally, the role demands managing executive-level meetings such as those involving the Board of Directors and Executive Management Committee, participating in industry events, and performing site inspections to ensure venue appropriateness. The coordinator must also adhere strictly to the company’s risk and regulatory standards and promote an inclusive environment that reflects M&T Bank’s brand values.
This position requires excellent organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Strategic Meetings and Travel Coordinator is expected to have experience with hotel and venue contract management and related software, with domestic travel accounting for approximately 10 to 25 percent of the time. This is a full-time role based in Buffalo, New York, with an hourly pay range from $24.76 to $41.27, dependent on the candidate’s expertise and experience.                 - Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 years’ work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 years’ work experience
 - Experience working with multiple business lines
 - Experience with pertinent word processing and spreadsheet software
 - Experience managing multiple tasks and prioritizing among assignments
