The role offered within Harris Health System is a critical support position wherein the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with standardized recipes and under the guidance of the executive or sous chef. This position demands adherence to high standards of food safety and quality within a fast-paced, high volume institutional cooking environment. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of food preparation experience, preferably in environments with high meal production volumes, and possess a Food Handlers Certification. This role involves operating various kitchen equipment such as ovens, steam cookers, meat slicers, deep fat fryers, and grills. Attention to detail, strong communication skills for writing and composing reports or correspondence, as well as basic math skills, are essential for success in this position. The work schedule may include weekends, holidays, and flexible hours with potential overtime.
