The cook plays a vital role in improving residents’ quality of life through well-prepared, appetizing food served at the proper temperatures and within timely schedules. This position offers 8-hour shifts with an emphasis on PM and weekend availability, starting at $18.00 per hour. The cook will follow standardized recipes and collaborate with registered dietitians to prepare menus that accommodate special dietary requirements and individual preferences. Efficiency and minimizing waste are key aspects of the role, ensuring that food supplies and equipment are used effectively. Additionally, the cook supervises culinary staff regarding food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning, providing leadership in the absence of chefs or dietary managers. • High school diploma or equivalent
• one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting
• ability to follow standardized recipes
