We are currently seeking full-time Cook professionals to join our vibrant team at Ochsner University and Clinics in Lafayette, Louisiana. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $18.00 with a rotating schedule that may vary in days and hours—details provided upon interview. This role is vital to ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service in a healthcare setting, directly contributing to patient satisfaction and nutrition. Successful candidates will prepare food according to federal, state, and corporate standards using standardized recipes. The Cook will be responsible for meal preparation, food portioning, temperature control, and presentation, guaranteeing that each food item served is not only appetizing but also safe and nutritious. Beyond direct food preparation, the Cook will maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, operate and maintain kitchen equipment, and participate in food ordering and inventory management. The role demands adherence to safety protocols such as proper glove use, slip-resistant shoes, and safe lifting techniques, ensuring the protection of all team members.
