The current job opening is for a full-time Cook position based at the Mulva Cultural Center located at 221 South Broadway, De Pere, WI 54115. This role entails working a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and varying hours, with additional details to be shared during the interview process. The pay for this position ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing competitive compensation to its staff.
In the role of Cook, employees are entrusted with preparing high-quality food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards and regulations. The responsibilities include preparing menu items following standardized recipes, ensuring meals are properly portioned, presented attractively, and served at the correct temperature. The cook will also be involved in quality control by tasting food items and using established procedures for ticket collection during service. Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment is imperative, including regular cleaning of kitchen areas, refrigeration units, and storerooms, and proper food storage practices to comply with safety standards.
Additional duties encompass operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, assisting with production planning, record keeping, and inventory management, including ordering and receiving food and supplies. The role requires immediate reporting of equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors and participation in regular safety and in-service meetings to stay updated on company policies and safety protocols. Collaboration and maintaining strong working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients are essential to fostering a positive and efficient workplace.
Safety is prioritized through adherence to specific guidelines such as the use of medium weight cut gloves when handling knives and other sharp tools, wearing appropriate gloves when handling hot items, and using slip-resistant footwear along with proper lifting techniques.
