The Cook CD – Standard role at Sam Adams Brewhouse is a vital position responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items in a high-volume setting. This role requires the ability to perform multiple kitchen station functions, including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and egg cooking stations. The cook must follow recipes and product directions meticulously to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served. Beyond cooking, the role involves maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation, practicing rigorous food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with HACCP, and properly handling kitchen equipment and ingredients. The Cook CD – Standard also plays a critical role in monitoring product stocks, rotation, and temperature checks to maintain food safety and inventory standards.
This position requires effective communication skills to share ticket times and potential issues with the manager on duty and servers, ensuring smooth kitchen operations and customer satisfaction. It's a non-exempt position reporting typically to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager based on location-specific guidelines. The job demands physical stamina to work in a fast-paced, often hot kitchen environment, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and handle sharp tools safely. - Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Requires a minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience, work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
