In the role of Cook within Atria Senior Living's Dining Services team, you will play a crucial part in enriching the lives of residents by preparing nutritious, appetizing, and visually appealing meals. Your responsibilities will encompass reviewing menus and food production instructions with a specific focus on Holiday recipes, ensuring that portion control standards are met and meals are prepared to a high quality. This role demands adherence to strict food safety and sanitation practices, including proper procedures for covering, labeling, dating, and storing food. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate logs for refrigerators, freezers, and production sheets, which are critical for operational excellence and safety compliance. A proactive approach to cleaning duties and sanitation standards, particularly in preparation and serving areas, kitchen surfaces, and utensils, is essential for maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for both staff and residents. - High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in industry or full-service restaurant cooking
- Ability to prepare and follow Holiday recipes
- Effective communication in English and excellent customer service skills
- General knowledge of and ability to conform to sanitation and safe food handling practices
- Basic computer skills preferred
