The Community Porter - Custodian position is based in Parkhouse - Thornton, Colorado, and offers a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday work schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the community’s common areas, including unit turns and general property maintenance, which contributes directly to the overall resident satisfaction and the property’s appearance. The position maintains a starting base salary of $19.00 per hour, which may vary based on the candidate's experience, credentials, and primary location, with fair consideration to internal equity. As a Community Porter - Custodian, your responsibilities will include performing janitorial duties, grounds keeping, and light maintenance tasks on a timely basis while following established procedures and instructions. You are expected to be self-directed after training, handling priorities and deadlines with minimal guidance. This role also demands excellent customer service since you will assist residents and team members regularly. You will perform general housekeeping activities such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, maintaining appliances, and caring for exterior spaces like balconies and walkways. You will also be responsible for maintaining and reordering cleaning supplies, ensuring OSHA compliance, assisting with snow removal during winter as necessary, and managing apartment unit cleaning for turnovers. The role requires proficiency in reading and understanding safety guidelines, communication skills to interact with supervisors and tenants, and the ability to carry out basic math for tasks involving cleaning solution measurements. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating custodial equipment.
