The Outreach Dental Assistant position focuses on supporting the CHS Dental Team by assisting hygienists with on-site and community-based clinical dental procedures. This includes the delivery of sealants and other preventive dental care services primarily conducted in schools, nursing homes, and other community locations. When outreach programs are not in session, the Outreach Dental Assistant provides direct patient care within the dental clinic, showcasing versatility and adaptability. This position requires someone who possesses strong communication skills, flexibility, and a compassionate approach to dental patient care. The assistant plays a critical role in enhancing oral health outcomes by supporting various clinical operations such as chairside assistance for dental fillings, extractions, and other procedures. The job also involves maintaining and sterilizing dental equipment according to CDC and OSHA standards, managing dental supplies across different settings, and ensuring accurate patient data entry and record keeping.
