The successful candidate will collaborate directly with the Aviation Program Director to coordinate student flight training requirements, schedule students effectively, and monitor their progress to ensure completion of necessary licenses within the prescribed timeframe. The Aviation Flight Trainer plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of the program by ensuring that all students meet course objectives, training requirements, and licensing milestones as outlined in the Training Course Outline. Beyond instructional duties, the trainer is also tasked with maintaining updated student records and logbooks, fostering a professional and safe learning environment, and overseeing the condition of flight simulators, reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Additionally, the trainer has the opportunity to influence curriculum development by recommending improvements and assisting in the creation of new course materials. Candidates for this role are expected to possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification as a minimum requirement. Preference will be given to those holding CFI-Instrument (CFII) certifications and CFI-Multi-Engine ratings. Furthermore, a valid FAA Third Class Medical Certificate or higher is mandatory. Educationally, an Associate's Degree is preferred, and experience as a U.S. military or airline flight instructor enhances the candidate’s suitability for the position.
