Currently, Bon Appetit is hiring for a full-time Chef position located at Studio Deli NBCU - 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA. The role involves working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with some weekends included. This position offers a fixed pay rate of $30.00 per hour and includes attractive internal employee referral bonuses. The Chef will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating kitchen operations alongside food production and food-service associates. This leadership role supervises and supports cooks and kitchen associates, ensuring all food handling and sanitation standards are rigorously met. The Chef will oversee scheduling, training, payroll, and performance management, as well as participate in hiring and disciplinary actions. Preparing high-quality food items according to standardized recipes is essential, along with ensuring proper food presentation, portion control, and maintaining proper serving temperatures.
Inventory management is a critical aspect of the position, involving tracking food use, ordering supplies, and inspecting deliveries for quality and quantity. Maintaining sanitation of kitchen equipment and workstations is mandatory to uphold safety and health regulations. The Chef will also collaborate in menu and recipe development, contributing to creative and sustainable food service offerings.
