The role of the Food Preparation Worker is vital for maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen and ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and promptly. The individual in this position will be responsible for preparing food ordered by customers using a variety of kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, fryers, meat slicers, and food processors. This role requires adherence to specific preparation methods that allow for quick turnaround times while maintaining top quality and quantity standards. The position involves reading food order slips or receiving verbal instructions to prepare and cook food accordingly. Additionally, this role requires the person to wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking, perform shift opening and closing duties such as starting equipment, cleaning refrigeration units, and maintaining cleanliness in grill and surrounding areas.
Maintaining organization and cleanliness in all kitchen equipment and food storage areas according to Health Department rules and regulations is a key aspect of this job. The Food Preparation Worker will also monitor inventory levels throughout their shift, restocking products as needed and alerting the management team about any shortages or maintenance issues. Collaboration with the Kitchen Manager to determine daily specials, new menu items, and innovative cooking techniques will be an exciting part of this dynamic position. This is a fast-paced and demanding role that requires excellent multitasking skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to upholding food safety standards. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card upon hire

- Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment
