Within the PHMC Educational Services division, the Fairwold Academy plays a critical role in supporting students and staff through comprehensive educational and support services. The Food Services Worker position at Fairwold Academy is an essential role focused on providing nutritious meals while adhering to strict food safety and health standards. This position is full-time for 10 months, with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including additional summer program dates as determined by the Executive Director. Reporting directly to the principal, the Food Services Worker contributes to both the cafeteria and classroom environments, ensuring that meals meet the nutritional needs of students and staff and comply with Department of Health and National School Lunch Program requirements.
The role involves preparing, serving, and accounting for meals accurately, managing meal records, and assisting with financial transactions. The Food Services Worker supports the food services provider with meal preparation and daily reporting tasks while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas. In addition to cafeteria duties, this position includes assisting the culinary teacher in classroom food preparation, packaging, and transaction management. The position requires a strong knowledge of food safety standards, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with various school stakeholders. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service, public health, and education who are eager to contribute to a positive school environment and student well-being.
