The available position is a Bartender role focused on delivering outstanding beverage and food service across multiple bars and restaurants within the Pueblo of Sandia. The bartender is an essential team member responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, while ensuring compliance with all alcohol service regulations. The role involves preparing drinks accurately using the correct portions and recipe methods, managing the bar area including stocking products, changing kegs, cleaning, and maintaining inventory. The bartender will operate the point-of-sale system, handle transactions responsibly, uphold financial controls, and deliver a positive and engaging experience for guests. This role also includes collaborating with other team members, participating in training new staff, and following policies related to safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service.
Working in this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, comprehensive knowledge of beverages and bar operations, and a customer-focused mindset. The bartender must be detail-oriented, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and capable of handling challenging situations diplomatically. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and performing various movements such as bending, twisting, and reaching. The position requires punctuality, regular attendance, and flexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess at least one year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue. A New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License is required prior to employment. The role adheres strictly to health and safety regulations and the policies outlined by Indian Health Services. - Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
- One year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening
- Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License prior to hire date
- Ability to lift at least 150 lbs
- Must be available to work scheduled shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, pulling, and reaching
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
