The Patina Group at the Diamond Room in San Diego, California, is currently seeking both full-time and part-time Bartenders to join their award-winning team. This role is essential in delivering exceptional beverage service and creating memorable guest experiences through the art of bartending. The position offers an hourly wage of $17.25, not including additional tipped earnings, and comes with a comprehensive benefits package focused on supporting team members both personally and professionally. As a Bartender at the Diamond Room, you will greet guests warmly and offer personalized service throughout their visit. Your expertise in preparing and serving a wide variety of craft cocktails, fine wines, and premium spirits will ensure guests enjoy a memorable drinking experience. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of mixology techniques, spirit brands, wine varietals, and emerging bar trends is essential to this role. You'll provide expert recommendations, educate guests about beverage pairings and seasonal offerings, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and bar presentation. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurate cash handling, operating the POS system efficiently, and ensuring responsible alcohol service in full compliance with state and local laws. Collaboration with front-of-house staff and management will help ensure seamless service, and your input will be valued in menu development and seasonal cocktail program updates. Maintaining inventory and assisting with ordering supplies also form part of your duties.
This dynamic role requires physical stamina due to constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive motions, and occasionally lifting stock up to 35 pounds. Working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with moderate to high environmental noise levels during busy periods is expected. Shift schedules may include days, evenings, holidays, weekdays, and weekends, providing flexibility and a variety of work experiences. Bartending experience in fine dining, luxury hotels, or upscale cocktail bars is essential, along with advanced knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, wines, and cocktail construction. Excellent communication skills and a polished demeanor will help build rapport with guests and coworkers alike. Certification in mixology or as a sommelier is preferred but not required. This position does not require a high school diploma or GED, making it accessible to experienced professionals dedicated to their craft.
