The current job opening is for a Food and Beverage Service Associate within a hotel environment under the Azul Hospitality brand. This role is designed for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality service and skilled in food and beverage operations. The employee will be responsible for providing friendly, courteous, and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests. This position involves taking customer orders, describing menu items, suggesting products, and preparing hot and cold drinks including specialty beverages such as artisan coffee, tea, and pastries. The associate is expected to maintain a clean and safe preparation and service area while ensuring compliance with company standards and sanitation regulations.
In addition to food and beverage preparation, this role requires managing inventory to ensure coffee supplies and related materials are well stocked. The associate will also operate point-of-sale systems, handle payments, and follow cash handling procedures meticulously. Maintaining calmness and professionalism during high-volume periods is essential, as is adherence to operational policies regarding safety and security. The associate must report maintenance issues promptly to the maintenance team and assist guests with inquiries whenever needed.
Physical demands include the ability to work indoors under moderate temperature conditions, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures like freezers and kitchens. The job demands standing and mobility for extended periods, the ability to lift up to 45 pounds, and perform repetitive motions like bending, stretching, and handling equipment. The associate must exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with guests and team members. Knowledge of basic computer operations and point-of-sale systems is also a key component.
Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of customer service experience and preferably one to three years of food service experience. Candidates must possess certifications such as Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification to comply with health and safety standards.
