The role of a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market is essential to maintaining the high standards and quality that the brand represents. This position is part-time and offers a pay range of $16.65 to $21.65 per hour, with Sprouts determining pay based on the applicant's experience and qualifications. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be working in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment where your passion for baking and delivering excellent customer service will shine. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and packaging baked goods such as cookies, bread, and muffins, using proven ingredients and precise methods to ensure product consistency and satisfaction. You will assist the Bakery Manager in multiple tasks, including baking, packaging, pricing, merchandising, and maintaining overall bakery cleanliness and safety.
This role also requires a keen attention to detail in stock management, including stocking, filling, facing, and ensuring pricing accuracy in the bakery department. You will be tasked with inspecting product quality, ensuring proper rotation of bakery items, and discarding anything outdated or spoiled to uphold the health standards and food safety regulations. Additional duties include receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality control.
The Bakery Clerk role is not only about technical baking skills but also about providing an outstanding customer service experience. You will be expected to interact positively and professionally with customers, answer phones, take special orders, and contribute to a helpful and welcoming environment. Handling equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently is also part of your duties.
The position demands physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and comply with all safety and health regulations, including maintaining a valid Food Handlers permit.                 - be at least 18 years of age
 - have a high school diploma or equivalent
 - have 1-2 years bakery experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
 - be dependable and reliable with ability to work flexible schedules including night, weekends, and holidays
 - have outgoing and friendly behavior and positive attitude
 - have good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in team environment
 - be able to answer phones and take special orders
 - perform general housekeeping duties including clean and sanitize work areas
 - be able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
 - be able to stand up to 3 hours continuously for a total of 8 hours per shift
 - be able to lift trays up to 5 lbs and items up to 40 lbs and transfer them vertically and horizontally as required
 - adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations
 - maintain a valid food handlers permit
