The role of Aviation Project Manager at Barge Design Solutions is a critical position that plays a vital role in managing and advancing aviation-related projects primarily across West Tennessee, Mississippi, Northern Florida, and the Gulf Coast. The candidate will be entrusted with leading dynamic projects such as runway and taxiway extensions, apron expansions, hangar and terminal construction, installation of airfield navigation aids, airfield lighting replacement, asphalt overlays, pavement designs, airport master planning, and pavement maintenance. This position demands an individual who is eager to embrace challenges and contribute innovatively to the design process from inception through to construction completion.
In this role, the Aviation Project Manager is expected to engage closely with clients through all stages of a project, including business development activities like proposal creation and contract negotiation. They will develop comprehensive project management plans, oversee scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance, and enforcement of contractual terms. The position requires someone with deep expertise in FAA airport regulations and standards, as well as familiarity with state block grant programs. The Manager will serve as the primary liaison between clients and project teams, ensuring effective communication, problem-solving, and delivery of projects that meet both the client’s needs and Barge’s profitability goals.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer registration required
- 6-12 years of experience including aviation engineering experience
- Superior knowledge of FAA airport circulars and engineering design, bidding, construction administration, and management of airport projects
- Familiarity with airport design under the FAA and state block grant programs
- Must be a collaborative team player
- Some travel required
