This position is integral to fulfilling those goals by preparing and cooking food items at the Courtyard Bistro according to the high standards set by both CSM and Marriott. The role of the Bistro Cook involves daily preparation and cooking of menu items, ensuring that all food is produced in accordance with Marriott's specifications and recipes to guarantee exceptional taste and presentation. This position requires anticipation and planning for daily prep work based on hotel occupancy, which ensures seamless service throughout the day. Cost control is an essential responsibility, with the cook managing food usage to minimize waste and expenses while maintaining quality. The Bistro Cook also handles the proper use of kitchen equipment and supplies, maintains cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas, and adheres to all health regulations and safety protocols required at both local and federal levels. Beyond cooking, this role includes direct guest interaction, requiring courteous and friendly communication with patrons, as well as efficiently coordinating food service with Bistro Attendants. The Bistro Cook also participates in point-of-sale system operations, including cash handling and closing procedures, while supporting other team members with tasks such as dishwashing, bussing tables, and inventory management. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of cooking experience and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain relevant local food safety certifications. Physical stamina to meet demanding kitchen duties is essential.
