The Pastry Cook position at The Loren Hotel plays a vital role in creating and preparing fresh pastries and other dessert items for the hotel's food outlets. This role demands a high level of skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies. The pastry cook will apply classic baking techniques while also staying current with the latest pastry trends and baking methods. Responsibilities include crafting enticing confectionery decorations, delicious pastry fillings, and ensuring all food items maintain their freshness and quality through proper dating and storage. The role requires assisting with food deliveries and managing inventory, including noting shortages or out-of-stock items. The pastry cook must adhere strictly to The Loren's culinary procedures, health department regulations, and federal guidelines, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met consistently.   • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of experience as a pastry cook, baker or similar
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 70 lbs
  • Flexible working hours including weekends and evenings
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures ranging from -10 degrees freezer to over 100 degrees front line work
  • Ability to stand continuously during shifts
