Pastini Pastaria is a cherished restaurant group based in Portland, Oregon, known for its dedication to celebrating the fresh, local ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. Since opening its first location in 2001, Pastini has grown into a beloved family of eight restaurants across the state. The company prides itself on handcrafting every entree to order, utilizing produce, dairy, breads, coffee, and meats sourced from local suppliers. This commitment to quality and community is a cornerstone of Pastini’s identity, making it a popular destination for pasta and wine lovers who appreciate not only exceptional food but also sustainable and community-focused dining experiences.
At Pastini, the emphasis goes beyond just serving food; it’s about creating memorable hospitality experiences by combining the flavors of the Pacific Northwest with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The company culture is service-oriented and prioritizes people, fostering an environment that supports growth, learning, and professional development for its team members.
The role of Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Pastini is a critical leadership position responsible for upholding the company’s high standards of hospitality while driving operational success. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, capable of leading and developing diverse teams, and committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in hiring, training, and managing staff to ensure consistent execution of Pastini’s standards. Particular focus is placed on the Host Department, with responsibilities extending to Back of House (BOH) and Front of House (FOH) teams when necessary. This position also involves financial management duties, including supporting the GM with budgeting, payroll, and inventory tasks. Additionally, the AGM is tasked with maintaining the highest levels of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and quality food preparation.
The position is demanding and dynamic, often requiring 45 to 50 hours per week, with additional hours during holidays, special events, and other peak times to support the business effectively. Engagement in all meal periods, especially the busy Friday and Saturday dinner services, is essential. The AGM must foster a respectful workplace environment, promoting policies against harassment and discrimination and ensuring adherence to company procedures.
