Green Thumb Industries (GTI) and RISE Dispensaries are leading names in the cannabis retail industry, recognized for their commitment to promoting well-being through the power of cannabis. GTI is a modern cannabis company focused on providing high-quality products and an exceptional customer experience across multiple states. As an employer, GTI is dedicated to fostering an inclusive corporate culture that mirrors the diversity of the communities it serves, celebrating diversity in race, sex, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, experience, and thought. This commitment goes beyond diversity initiatives to champion economic opportunities in communities disproportionately affected by the war on drugs by providing meaningful employment and community involvement. The company's mission, "the right to wellness," drives its transparent, hardworking, humble, and collaborative culture, creating a workplace where good ideas can come from anywhere and growth is grounded in well-being.
The role of Asset Protection Specialist (APS) at GTI and RISE Dispensaries represents a unique blend of security, hospitality, and customer service that aims to enhance every guest's experience. Unlike traditional security roles, APSs are the warm, welcoming face that embodies the company's brand values, delivering a concierge-style experience that makes every customer feel safe, respected, and valued. This position is highly dynamic, requiring physical readiness to respond to incidents with urgency while maintaining an approachable and friendly demeanor. The APS is responsible for creating a positive first impression by greeting guests warmly, managing the check-in process efficiently, and setting a positive tone for their visit.
In addition to guest interaction, the APS plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety, security, and compliance of the dispensary. This includes monitoring premises, de-escalating conflicts with empathy and tact, supporting emergency procedures, and performing regular visual inspections to ensure a secure environment. APS team members collaborate closely with store teams and leadership, sharing insights on safety and security concerns while helping train new staff to uphold the company’s standards.
The job demands versatility, where team members engage actively on the dispensary floor, balancing mobility and vigilance throughout their shifts. This is not a desk job; APS professionals stand, walk, and interact continuously, moving inventory and assisting customers as needed. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license or state ID, and comply with all cannabis industry regulations and background checks. Experience in customer-facing roles, especially those involving concierge services, is strongly preferred, as is some familiarity with POS systems and compliance technologies.
Working conditions include a fast-paced retail setting that sometimes requires outdoor duties under various weather conditions and exposure to cannabis allergens. The role demands physical endurance and excellent communication skills, paired with a high level of professionalism and integrity. GTI emphasizes a work environment where honesty and open communication foster health within the organization, and every team member's contribution is valued.
Joining GTI and RISE Dispensaries means becoming part of a mission-driven company committed to promoting wellness through cannabis while supporting each other and the communities served. The Asset Protection Specialist role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a specialty retail environment that sets the bar for customer safety, hospitality, and operational excellence.
