Hope House Colorado is hiring a full-time Kitchen Manager/Cook, internally referred to as the Kitchen Manager, to join their team in Arvada. This role is pivotal in ensuring that healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals are prepared and served to 30-100 children daily in the ELC. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for all aspects of meal planning, preparation, and service, with a focus on promoting healthy eating habits and exposing children to a variety of foods. Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks, are prepared in a commercial kitchen onsite and served family-style to encourage proper portion understanding and social interaction around food. This position requires compliance with strict standards set forth by the Colorado Child Care licensing, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and Colorado Health Department regulations to guarantee safety and nutrition. The Kitchen Manager will also handle inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen health and safety standards. In addition to direct food service responsibilities, the role collaborates with other departments within HHC to support event catering and kitchen use for various community activities. The position offers a salary range of $41,600 to $49,920 based on experience, with a comprehensive benefits package available for employees working 24 hours or more weekly. - Experience working in a commercial kitchen in child food service preparation and/or management
- ServSafe certified or ability to acquire within one month of hire
- Knowledge and understanding of measurements for large quantity food preparation
- Availability to work onsite at Arvada location Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Commitment to follow Colorado Child Care licensing, CACFP and Colorado Health Department regulations
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities including menu planning, food ordering, and kitchen maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
