The position of PRN Housekeeper/Laundry Aide at Golden Palms Rehabilitation and Retirement is an opportunity to join a dedicated team in a healthcare setting that prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and resident comfort. This role is vital to maintaining the high standards of hygiene and sanitation required in a skilled nursing facility. The job primarily involves housekeeping and laundry services aimed at creating a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for residents and staff. The role operates on a PRN (pro re nata or as needed) basis, specifically covering shifts from Sunday to Sunday between 3pm and 10pm, offering flexibility for individuals seeking part-time work in healthcare. In this role, the housekeeper and laundry aide play a crucial role in adhering to all facility policies and applicable federal and state regulations, including those standards set by the Department of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other accrediting bodies. The employee is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, polishing furnishings, cleaning windows, and sanitizing bathrooms while ensuring all tasks meet infection control standards. Special attention is given to maintaining safety by following fire safety policies, wearing appropriate protective gear, and handling chemicals properly using material safety data sheets (MSDS). The laundry duties include collecting, sorting, washing, pressing, folding, and distributing linens and garments efficiently and safely, sometimes handling items exceeding 30 pounds. The position involves meticulous sorting of laundry items for special treatment and ensuring clean supplies are well stocked. The housekeeper/laundry aide is also tasked with waste disposal in accordance with established sanitation procedures. Working in this healthcare environment requires a positive attitude toward working with elderly and rehabilitating residents, respecting their rights to privacy, dignity, and self-determination while ensuring their living spaces are clean and comfortable.
