The role of Fixed Wing Pilot at Guardian Flight involves operating the Hawker 800 aircraft across various locations nationwide. This full-time position demands exceptional piloting skills, strict adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to manage challenging operational environments. Pilot schedules are location-dependent, with shifts that include day or night assignments, typically encompassing 12-hour duty periods or the maximum allowed under Part 135 regulations during missions. Pilots must be prepared to respond promptly from home within their call-out time to meet planned trip launch times. Shift patterns consist of eight consecutive days on either day or night duty, followed by a rotation to the alternate duty period for the next eight days. While changes to assigned duty periods within the 8-day shifts are generally discouraged, they may be necessary based on local operational requirements.
Compensation for this role varies by location and experience, including annual scaled salary increases based on merit up to a maximum of $150,826. In addition to the salary, several attractive incentives include a $15,000 sign-on bonus upon completion of training and check ride, a $40,000 retention bonus awarded over a three-year program with a six-month waiting period, and up to $3,000 in relocation assistance. As a Fixed Wing Pilot for Guardian Flight, you will function as an integral member of the aviation and operational team that coordinates with Flight Dispatch, the Director of Operations, and the Chief Pilot to ensure mission readiness and compliance with all relevant domestic and international aviation regulations including FARs, ICAO annexes, and AIPs.
Pilots will be required to maintain a professional demeanor and sensitivity to operational environments, attend required meetings and training, and perform additional duties as assigned. The role requires candidates to be physically capable of handling various demands including operating in outside weather conditions, assisting with aircraft preparation such as de-icing and towing, and working night, day, or overnight shifts as necessary. International travel is also a key component of the position. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, and occasionally assist with patient handling and aircraft ground operations.
Guardian Flight operates under a Code of Equal Employment Opportunity, supporting veterans, and providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
