This role is a fully remote 1099 contractor position based in the United States, requiring comfort with long periods of car travel. The primary focus is on conducting commercial drone or UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) inspections for the Telecom vertical, with the bulk of work located in the Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC areas, as well as Montana, Wyoming, and Texas. The job involves receiving Statements of Work (SOWs) detailing specific aerial assets that need to be captured. The company provides thorough training on capturing the required shot list, which typically includes approximately five specific shots per distribution pole, with all shots taken above the conductor height. Drone pilots will be compensated per pole inspected, making it a pay-for-performance style role that offers flexibility in setting one’s schedule and working remotely. The ideal candidate must hold an FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Certificate and have a valid driver’s license, alongside a safety-conscious mindset and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Drivers must have an operational personal vehicle that meets professional standards or be willing to rent a suitable vehicle.
