This job opportunity is to join the University of Oklahoma as a Transit Bus Operator responsible for providing essential bus services around the Norman Campus, the city of Norman, and occasionally OKC.   • 24 months experience driving heavy transit vehicles performing delivery services or closely related service
  • ability to maneuver navigate and drive a passenger vehicle
  • good customer service skills with sensitivity to customer needs
  • good driving record
  • valid Oklahoma Driver's License
  • valid Oklahoma State Class B Commercial Driver's License CDL or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Air Brake and Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • ability to obtain Department of Transportation DOT medical Examiner's Certificate
  • ability to physically push a manual wheelchair up an incline or ramp when required
  • ability to manually deploy mechanical lift or ramp for passengers with special needs when necessary
  • ability to sit for extended periods of time and drive with limited rest breaks
