The available role is for an Aircraft Ground Handler, a vital position responsible for managing and facilitating the movement and safety of customer aircraft on the ground. The Ground Handler’s duties encompass loading, unloading, guiding, and servicing aircraft while maintaining rigorous safety standards. This position entails safeguarding customers’ baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather conditions, loss, theft, damage, or destruction. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle equipment such as belt loaders, pushback tugs, deicers, and other motorized units essential for efficient ramp operations.
In this role, the Ground Handler will be responsible for the secure transport and transfer of passenger baggage, freight, company materials, and mail in and out of aircraft bins or carts, ensuring all items are handled carefully. They will also operate pushback equipment to assist with aircraft movement on the tarmac, maintaining communication with wing walkers to avoid any safety hazards. Detailed record keeping and adherence to company procedures are crucial for this position, as handlers will complete necessary paperwork connected to their duties and enter data into the company's information system.
The job requires working in varying environmental conditions, including cramped spaces and elevated positions such as stairs and jetways, demanding physical agility and strength. - must be able to lift/carry/push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
- must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods
- must be able to work in cramped or high places
- must be able to carry heavy items up and down jet way stairs
