The role of the Assistant Dining Room Manager at Blackberry Farm is pivotal in delivering an exceptional front-of-the-house food and beverage experience. This full-time position, primarily working evening shifts starting at 2:00 p.m., requires a dedicated individual to manage the dining room operations which include dinner service, bar operations, special events, group services, coffee stations, and pantry management. The Assistant Dining Room Manager takes responsibility for ensuring smooth daily operations, from opening the dining room and managing shifts to closing procedures. This role centers on leadership, communication, and training, with a key focus on supporting the dining room supervisors and line-level staff. Effective coordination of schedules, coverage, and guest seating plans is critical to maintaining high standards. The Assistant Manager also oversees monthly inventory tasks such as china, linen, and silverware orders while fostering positive team morale and service standards. Supporting the wine program, managing special cleaning projects, and being an active participant in weekly team, group, and manager meetings form essential parts of the role. The position demands excellent verbal communication and strong listening skills to interact efficiently with guests, team members, and management. Candidates should have relevant operational management or supervisory experience, particularly within upscale dining settings, substantial knowledge of wine and spirits, and proficiency with various computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and property management systems. Physical demands include the ability to remain on feet for extended periods and safely handle equipment such as company vehicles or golf carts.
