Global Medical Response (GMR) is a leading player in the emergency medical services industry, known for its commitment to providing timely and lifesaving care across numerous regions. GMR operates a wide network of emergency medical transportation and healthcare services, including air medical operations that require a highly skilled team of pilots, emergency medical experts, and mechanics. The company focuses on delivering superior patient care at a moment's notice, embodying a mission centered around quick response and exceptional medical assistance in urgent situations. This dedication ensures that patients receive the best possible support when emergencies occur. As a company, GMR supports a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement, enabling it to be the trusted partner for emergency medical services across its service areas. The role of a Float Pilot within Global Medical Response is critical in maintaining seamless air medical operations throughout the assigned Air Evac Region and potentially beyond this region if needed. This full-time position involves providing relief support for Base Line Pilots who are absent during their scheduled shifts, ensuring continuous and safe flight operations. As part of the responsibilities, the Float Pilot will be assigned to a base within the Air Evac Region and must be prepared to cover multiple bases within and outside the region effective immediately. This role requires the pilot to uphold strict compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac EMS Operations Manual, and all relevant state and municipal directives – maintaining the highest standards of operational safety and efficiency. The Float Pilot will consistently monitor weather conditions and forecasts, ensuring the aircraft is ready for transport missions while upholding cleanliness and maintenance standards. They must carry out preflight inspections accurately using the Rotorcraft Flight Manual, promptly reporting any discrepancies or mechanical issues to the maintenance team. This position demands a dedicated, alert individual who can manage complex flights under various weather conditions and maintain clear and professional communication with the operations center and medical teams. The role reinforces GMR's promise to be caregivers first and foremost by enabling the timely transport of patients who depend on prompt medical intervention. With safety, readiness, and precision at the forefront of duties, the Float Pilot must also document all relevant paperwork neatly and on time, helping to maintain smooth operational workflows. Candidates must be prepared for a physically demanding job, requiring a certain weight threshold when dressed in required flight gear. Additionally, pilots are expected to have strong multitasking abilities, ethical behavior, effective communication skills, and critical thinking to address dynamic challenges within the flight environment.
