The role of Air Traffic Control Instructor at SAIC CTS in Boise is pivotal for maintaining the high standards of air traffic control services. These include developmental air traffic controllers who are just starting their careers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC) who require recurrent training to uphold their certification. An ideal candidate for this position will have recent and relevant experience as a Certified Professional Controller or an FAA contract Instructor at the appropriate level of air traffic control facility. The role demands strong technical proficiency with ATC automation systems, simulation platforms, and procedures, along with the ability to mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO). Additionally, the instructor contributes to the design and development of training curricula, making sure it aligns with evolving FAA training requirements.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust security clearance. This role does not offer remote work or travel opportunities, focusing instead on on-site training delivery at the Boise facility. The position is particularly suitable for FERS retirees aged 56 to 62, as earnings from this role are exempt from Supplemental Annuity earnings limits.
